overview
The RDK X5 GMSL Adapter Kit is a self-developed high‑performance GMSL signal conversion solution designed for machine vision perception applications. Fully compliant with GMSL 1/2 protocol standards, it supports a maximum link rate of 6 Gbps per channel with 3G/6G rate switching. Up to four GMSL cameras can be connected concurrently, and image data is aggregated to the RDK X5 platform through dual MIPI CSI‑2 interfaces, catering to diverse acquisition requirements of monocular, binocular and multi‑camera vision systems.
For synchronization triggering, the RDK X5 outputs unified hardware synchronization signals over two independent trigger channels. Signals can be distributed to cameras, LiDAR and other external sensor nodes. Independent channel trigger LED indicators are supported, providing a unified clock reference for multi‑sensor timestamp alignment and hardware‑synchronized data acquisition.
In terms of signal interconnection, physical layer passthrough of IIC, GPIO and UART is implemented on the board. The main controller can directly access register space and status pins of remote cameras. When paired with AiliLight series cameras, CAN bus communication is also available.
Targeting machine vision system integrators, research institutions and independent developers, the kit encapsulates GMSL link configuration and low‑level register tuning into standardized procedures, significantly lowering the development barrier for building high‑bandwidth perception systems based on the RDK X5 platform.
